After the massive flooding caused by the southwest monsoon enhanced by Typhoon Carina, tons of garbage were left on the street of Barangay Tonsuya, Malabon City.

‘Pag hindj pa ‘yan nahakot tapos may ulan na namang malakas, tataas na naman ‘yong tubig,” said Rey Nario, a resident of the said barangay.

Some residents like the 52-year-old Edgar Castillo made use of the situation by collecting plastic bottles from the accumulated garbage.

The barangay council of Tonsuya now faces a big challenge after their garbage truck broke down due to the floods.
