<p>MANILA — The House of Representatives has ordered the arrest and detention of Michael Yang, who served as an economic adviser of former President Rodrigo Duterte, due to his repeated absence in their investigation <span id="isPasted" style="color:rgb(65, 65, 65);letter-spacing:normal;orphans:2;text-align:left;text-indent:0px;text-transform:none;white-space:normal;widows:2;word-spacing:0px;-webkit-text-stroke-width:0px;background-color:rgb(255, 255, 255);text-decoration-thickness:initial;text-decoration-style:initial;text-decoration-color:initial;display:inline !important;float:none">into the P3.6-billion illegal drugs seized in Pampanga last year.</span></p><div><span id="isPasted">&quot;Therefore you have been cited in contempt and ordered to be detained in Bicutan Jail for a period of 30 days,&quot; the House document read. </span></div><div><span id="isPasted">The House Committee on Dangerous Drugs earlier cited Yang in contempt. </span></div><p>In a statement earlier this month, Yang, a Chinese citizen, slammed Congress for alleged &quot;harassment.&quot;</p><p>“I accept the consequences of my failure to appear in the hearings.
