MANILA — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s push for improved public service delivery is gaining traction with the launch of the ePRC System and the Digital ID.

The initiative, a collaboration between the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) and the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), aims to make government services more streamlined and secure.

At the heart of this effort is the eGovPH app, launched by the DICT's eGovernment Office in June 2023. This app functions as a one-stop shop for various national government services.

Users can take advantage of features like Single-Sign-On (SSO) for hassle-free access and a secure Mobile ID Wallet for managing their identification documents.

Complementing the eGovPH app is the Professional Regulation Commission's (PRC) new electronic PRC Identification Card (ePIC). This digital version of the traditional PRC ID offers improved efficiency and accessibility for professionals.

While the ePIC is sufficient on its own, Assistant Commissioner Lord Louis Valera said that those who prefer a physical card can still request one.

“It’s all about providing more options to our professionals kung kumportable ka sa physical identification card you can always have it,” he said.

The eGovPH app empowers professionals with easy access to a range of PRC services, including ID renewals, verifications, petitions, registrations, exam applications, oath-taking, and certifications.

Valera said the digital transformation won't lead to job losses at the PRC.

“Wala tayo staff na ang gawa lang ay mag isyu ng ID. Dahil sa innovation na ito mababawasan yung man-hour na kinakailangan natin sa pag isyu ng ID yung mga staff natin na ito na nadeload ng kanilang task, issuing the ID to physically print the ID pwede na sila maging mas productive sa ibang aspeto,” he said.
