'I don't appreciate the attitude': Sara Duterte, Risa Hontiveros in heated exchange

<p>MANILA -- Vice President Sara Duterte and Sen. Risa Hontiveros had a heated exchange during the Senate finance committee&#x27;s hearing on the proposed 2025 budget of the Office of the Vice President (OVP) on Tuesday.<br/><br/>Asked by Hontiveros about details of the OVP&#x27;s budget, including assistance programs that are &quot;parallel&quot; or similar to those of the labor and social welfare agencies, Duterte said that the reason for the proposed separate allocation is due to alleged politicized decision-making from the line agencies.<br/><br/>According to Duterte, her office has experienced instances where its referral of assistance to DSWD was rejected, allegedly because of political allegiances.<br/><br/>Hontiveros said she would make a motion to re-allocate the budget for the OVP&#x27;s assistance programs to the relevant agencies, including DOLE.<br/><br/>The senator went on to ask about &quot;Isang Kaibigan,&quot; a children&#x27;s book authored by Duterte, and its proposed budget of P10 million to be distributed to learners. <strong>(See 8:50 mark in video.)</strong><br/><br/>The vice president, however, opted to not address the question about the book, and instead likened Hontiveros&#x27; planned motion to re-allocate the OVP&#x27;s assistance programs to her earlier mention of politicizing.<br/><br/>&quot;This is an example of politicizing the budget hearing through the questions of a senator.
