<p>MANILA<strong> (4th UPDATE)</strong> — The companions of dismissed Mayor Alice Guo of Bamban, Tarlac who had been under the custody of Indonesian authorities were deported to the Philippines on Thursday afternoon, authorities said.</p><p>Cassandra Li Ong, the representative of a company that provides services to Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO), and Shiela Guo, the sister of Alice Guo, arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport at around 5 p.m.</p><p>Philippine officials earlier in the day confirmed that Ong and Shiela Guo were apprehended by Indonesian authorities.</p><p>Alice Guo, who is fighting accusations of facilitating POGO operations in Bamban, reportedly left the Philippines last month and went to Malaysia and Singapore, where she met with her family, before heading to Indonesia this weekend.</p><p>Indonesia authorities investigated the group&#x27;s whereabouts after receiving a report from Philippine authorities, the Bureau of Immigration (BI) said.</p><p>“They were considered illegal aliens by Indonesian immigration as they are wanted in the Philippines,” BI Commissioner Norman Tansingco added in a statement.</p><p>During their apprehension, Indonesian authorities did not find ex-Mayor Guo and her brother Wesley, officials had said.</p><div><a href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/news/2024/8/22/alice-guo-companions-nabbed-in-indonesia-officials-1123">READ: Alice Guo companions detained in Indonesia: DOJ</a></div><p>&quot;They are passport holders where we have a suspicion they are fraudulently obtained or obtained through fraudulent means then we have reason to make them go back,&quot; Dapat caught in the act. Kung hindi inquest case ito dapat merong complaint affidavit. It has to go through the normal process and and inquest caught in the act,&quot; Topacio said. </span> </div><p>Clavano said that the legal rights of the two would be upheld.</p><p>&quot;Wala pa po silang abogado but they are of course entitled to one. Kasasabi lang po ng Secretary of Justice natin na we have to respect the rights of the two... Kaya po we are making sure that all rights are respected...
