San Francisco Bay Area, CA — The Philippine Development Foundation (PhilDev USA) is set to host its Annual Gala and Awards Night on Oct. 12, 2024, at the Westin SFO in the San Francisco Bay Area. 

This event will celebrate the achievements of Filipino scholars, entrepreneurs, and community leaders, marking a significant moment for the organization as it continues its mission to empower the next generation of innovators.

The Gala will highlight the presentation of the PhilDev Awards, which recognize Filipino-Americans who have made substantial contributions to their communities. 

These awards celebrate individuals who exemplify excellence, innovation, and dedication while maintaining strong ties to the Philippines. 

In addition to honoring community leaders, the evening will feature a live auction of unique experiences and a dynamic entertainment lineup, including performances by rising R&B star Zeyonce Brown and The Voice USA’s Justin and Jeremy Garcia.

Adding to the excitement, PhilDev recently announced the appointment of Olivia (Chinky) De Jesus as its new Executive Director. 

Olivia will lead the U.S. arm of PhilDev, driving strategic alliances, donor development, and partnerships with community stakeholders. 

Olivia (Chinky) De Jesus is the new Executive Director of the Philippine Development Foundation.

With a wealth of experience in business and stakeholder management, including her previous role as COO of ABS-CBN Global, Olivia is set to guide PhilDev into a new era of growth and impact.

“I am honored to take on this role and work alongside our Board of Trustees to build on PhilDev’s mission,” said De Jesus. “Together, we will strive to support Filipino youth and communities through education, innovation, and entrepreneurship.”

PhilDev’s leadership team, including newly appointed officers Chris Liban (Chairman), Paolo Malabuyo (Vice Chairman), Gloria Gil (Secretary), and Maria Banatao (Acting Treasurer), is committed to reinvigorating the organization’s efforts. 

They aim to fulfill the vision set by Founder and Chairman Emeritus Dado Banatao while expanding PhilDev’s impact across the U.S. and the Philippines.

Tickets for the Gala are available on the PhilDev website, and donations are encouraged for those unable to attend.
