LTO summons vlogger for 'blatant violation' of motorcycle rule on expressways

<div><span data-teams="true" id="isPasted"><span dir="ltr"></span></span></div><p>MANILA - The Land Transportation Office (LTO) issued on Thursday a show cause order against a rider who deliberately entered the at-grade section of the Skyway despite having a small displacement motorcycle. </p><p>According to the LTO, motorcycles under 400cc are strictly prohibited at the expressway. </p><p>But in the now-viral vlog, the rider and content creator even touted being able to get past security with just a 250cc motorcycle. The hearing is scheduled for Monday, September 16. </p><p>“We cannot tolerate itong mga violations na ganito kasi delikado po yan. Kung maliit po ang motor niyo at pumasok kayo sa expressway, sa bilis ng mga sasakyang tumatakbo, yung motorsiklo ninyo baka mag-wiggle, you lose control. Maaksidente pa kayo or worse, matamaan niyo yung ibang sasakyan at pare-pareho lang kayo maaksidente,” said Mendoza. </p><p>Mendoza also criticized the tollway operator for its lax enforcement of rules.</p><p>“Kasi may guard doon eh. Dapat nakita na nila, dapat ito hindi pwedeng pumasok,” he said.</p><p>Mendoza said it will also reprimand and seek an explanation from the expressway management and its head of security. </p><p>“TRB (Toll Regulatory Board) is now looking into it, kung anuman ang penalty nitong si expressway… Nakakahiya. LTO deputizes you in order for you to fulfill the role of LTO inside your expressway. He said he lied about using a 250cc motorcycle for the sake of having content. </p><p>“Ang pagkakamali ko, siyempre, bilang vlogger tayo, kailangan natin ng content. Hindi ko naman alam na magte-trending yung video. Sinabi ko doon na 250cc yung dala ko kahit hindi naman… kumbaga clickbait,” he explained.</p><p>“Nagsisisi po tayo dahil mali nga yun e, mali yung ginawa ko na maaaring gayahin ng iba,” he added.</p><div><a href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/news/2024/3/14/suv-driver-in-skyway-counterflow-incident-released-hpg-1441" id="isPasted">SUV driver in Skyway counterflow incident released: HPG </a></div><p>The LTO also urged other content creators to be more responsible about what they post so as not to endanger people’s lives.</p><p>“They are models e. People follow them. Itong mga content creator, they are influencers also.
