ABS-CBN News, Filipino students join newsrooms worldwide in raising awareness on the importance of journalism

<p>MANILA -- Hundreds of news organizations, media associations, and individuals worldwide have participated this week in the “Choose Truth” global campaign meant to highlight the importance of fact-based journalism.</p><p>In the Philippines, the campaign has taken the form of social media posts and short videos by Filipino students -- many of them campus journalists -- and several news organizations, among them ABS-CBN News through its digital platforms.</p><p>The &quot;Choose Truth&quot; worldwide campaign that kicked off Tuesday and culminating Saturday, during the celebration of World News Day September 28, emphasizes journalists&#x27; commitment to report the facts while acknowledging the public&#x27;s challenge of navigating a toxic information environment flooded with misinformation and disinformation.</p><p>“World News Day offers a moment to reflect on the vital role that independent and courageous journalists play in communities worldwide.
