Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) spokesperson Winston Casio doubts there is a threat on the life of dismissed Bamban, Tarlac mayor Alice Guo.

Nevertheless, he said the government will look into her claim which was supposedly her reason she went into hiding in Indonesia.

"Tignan natin kung may katotohanan ba o wala kasi kung threat lang ang paguusapan dapat mas matakot ang mga nag tatrabaho para masawata sila," said Casio in an interview on Teleradyo Serbisyo on Saturday. "Alangan naman ipapatay sya ng sarili nyang ama."

As mayor, Guo was accused of backing up a POGO in Bamban, just behind the town hall as a front for online hacking and digital scams. Her identity was also being questioned as she was elected mayor despite of supposedly being a Chinese national.

Casio said those who reportedly facilitated Guo's escape from the Philippines should also be investigated.

He said among them are Warren Wu and Xiang Dian.

"Mukha ba syang pinagbabantaan ni Warren Wu? In fact nakunan sya ng picture kasama si Alice Guo nasa airport sila. Sino ba nagbayad ng hotel nila? 'Di ba si Xiang Dian," he said.

"(So) sinong pinagsasabi n'ya nagbabanta sa buhay n'ya? Baka naman imahinasyon lang yan dulot ng depresyon o kung ano man problemang kinahaharap niya."

The Philippine National Police is also investigating Guo's claim.

PNP spokesperson Col. Jean Fajardo said they cannot ignore possible threats on Guo's life.

"On the part of PNP, this is not just applicable on the case of Alice Guo, pati na rin sa ibang nagsasabi na merong silang threat eh nagsasagawa tayo ng threat assessment for the purpose of providing necessary security," said Fajardo.

"Particularly lalo na itong mga aksong kinahaharap ni Alice Guo ay high profile cases. Hindi pwedeng ipagwalang bahala ng PNP yung sinasabi nya. So we really have to treat this as serious also for purpose of providing security sa kanya."

Fajardo said the PNP is poised to add security to protect Guo, who is currently detained at the PNP Custodial Center.

"Better na magdagdag tayo ng security at seguraduhin na di sya mapapahamak habang nasa custody natin. But just today, iniimebstigahan din natin itong mga sinasbi nya na death threat na natatanggap nya."
