Nung una sya nagdesisyon po [para] sa &#x27;kin, nung pangalawa [I agreed kasi] may naririnig ako na [threats],&quot; Guo said.</p><p>Guo also confirmed the earlier statement of her &quot;sister&quot; Shiela that they fled the Philippines through a series of sea trips.</p><div><a href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/news/2024/8/27/-alice-guo-siblings-fled-philippines-via-small-boat-sister-1135">• Alice Guo, siblings fled Philippines via &#x27;small boat&#x27;: sister</a></div><p>&quot;Meron po kaming sinakyang yate,&quot; Guo said, but added that she did not know who owned it. Her companions included Shiela, Wesley, and an Asian woman who only spoke English.</p><p>She added that their cellphones were confiscated before the trip, which lasted for 3 to 5 days.</p><p>In the middle of their journey, Guo said she eventually regretted her decision to escape.</p><p>&quot;Gusto ko na bumablik... Nagkamali talaga ako don,&quot; she said.</p><p>The dismissed mayor claimed no Filipino, private or government official, helped them escape.</p><div><a href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/news/2024/9/7/alice-guo-s-great-escape-began-on-small-boats-ends-in-private-jet-after-indonesia-arrest-1724">• Alice Guo’s great escape began on small boats, ends in private jet after Indonesia arrest</a></div><div><strong>SENATORS FRUSTRATED WITH GUO’S ANSWERS</strong></div><p>Senators were irked at the answers of Guo as the hearing of the Senate Committee on Women, Children, Family Relations and Gender Equality continued on Monday.</p><div><a href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/lifestyle/2024/9/9/know-your-meme-what-alice-guo-said-that-visibly-exasperated-hontiveros-1937">• Know your meme: What Alice Guo said that visibly exasperated Hontiveros</a></div><p>Guo, whose last appearance in the Senate was on May 22, was compelled to face Senators once again after she was arrested in Indonesia last week.</p><p>Committee Chair Sen. Risa Hontiveros asked Guo if she and Chinese Guo Hua Ping are the same.</p><p>Guo replied, “Di ko po kino-confirm. May kaso na po sa’king isinampa, sasagutin ko po sa korte (I do not confirm. A case has already been filed against me, I will answer in court).”</p><p>Hontiveros tried to convince Guo that she will not be incriminated, but the latter refused to budge.</p><p>Hontiveros then reiterated that authorities have proven that Guo and Chinese Guo Hua Ping are the same thanks to the fingerprint analysis of the National Bureau of Investigation.</p><p>“Honestly di ko alam ano nangyari. Ako si Alice Guo. Pasensya na rin po kung di kayo naniniwala,” Guo said.</p><p>(I honestly don’t know what happened. I am Alice Guo. I apologize if you don’t believe me.)</p><p>A visibly irritated Hontiveros flashed the Chinese passport of a young Guo Hua Ping and asked Guo if it was her on the photo but Guo only said she has a pending case and cannot answer.</p><div><a href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/news/2024/9/9/alice-guo-maraming-iniwasang-tanong-sa-senado-1802">• Alice Guo maraming iniwasang tanong sa Senado</a></div><p>Senate Minority Leader Koko Pimentel, meanwhile, asked Guo if she remembered filling up an NBI form which also had her fingerprints. The said form was used by authorities in comparing her fingerprints and those of Guo Hua Ping.</p><p>“Wala akong naalala na ganoong doc na ginawa,” Guo said. “Dun sa under ng picture signature ko pero di ko alam paano nangyari.”</p><p>(I don’t remember such document. The signature under the photo is mine but I don’t know what happened.)</p><p>“I’m incredulous!” Hontiveros remarked.</p><p>“That convinces me of the lying,” Pimentel concluded. “Pati yung paglalagay mo ng fingerprint di mo maalala. Masyado nang mahirap paniwalaan (It is too hard to believe that you don’t remember even putting your fingerprint).”</p><p>Hontiveros stated that it is impossible to fake fingerprints.</p><p>“You are cited in contempt, you will remain in the custody of the Senate until the conclusion of this committee inquiry,” Hontiveros stated.</p><p>This was the second time the Committee cited Guo in contempt. The first one was when she refused to attend the hearings.</p><div><strong>ISSUE ON CUSTODY</strong></div><p>Hontiveros later on retracted the order, however, and said Guo will remain in PNP custody.</p><p>“Habang in contempt sa Senado, mananatili sa PNP custody. Kung magpost bail siya, dadalhin na siya dito sa Senate,” Hontiveros said.</p><p>(While in contempt, she will remain in PNP custody. Conflict over Alice Guo custody looms</a></div><p>Senate Majority Leader Francis Tolentino wanted Guo to remain in Senate custody, citing Republic Act 10660, which is an Act that strengthens the functional and structural organization of the Sandiganbayan.</p><p>“RA 10660 speaks of a venue wherein a municipal mayor here is concerned. Once the Ombudsman files a case, it has to be outside, even though she was dismissed, the judicial region where she holds office,” Tolentino said.</p><p>Since Guo held office in Bamban, Tarlac, Tolentino said the endorsement of the case from the Ombudsman is in “violation” of the said law.</p><p>“Walang jurisdiction si RTC ng Capas,” he added. Palagay ko ang Senado po ang tama.”</p><p>(The RTC in Capas has no jurisdiction. I believe it should be the Senate.)</p><p>Hontiveros acknowledged Tolentino’s argument, but said the Committee will write to the judge and Ombudsman for clarification.</p><p>Meanwhile, the lawyer of Guo, Atty. Stephen David, chided senators.</p><p>“Ang problema lang kasi kung ano ang sinabi niya, di naman naniniwala,” David said. “Ako, nagke-claim ako na mali ang sinasabi mo, I have to present evidence na ikaw, yung sinasabi mo hindi totoo. Pero wag mong sabihin di ako naniniwala sayo.”</p><p>(The problem is they don’t believe in what she’s saying. If I claim that what you’re saying is wrong, I have to present evidence that you are lying. Don’t just say that you don’t believe.)</p><p>Guo was arrested in Indonesia on Sep. 3 and brought back to the Philippines on Sept. 6.
