<p>DAVAO ORIENTAL — Duterte ally and Senator Ronald dela Rosa on Monday claimed that the condition of former president Rodrigo Duterte in his detention facility at the International Criminal Court in the The Hague, Netherlands is “skin and bones.”</p><p>In a chance interview with ABS-CBN News during his visit to Davao Oriental on Monday, dela Rosa renewed the Duterte camp&#x27;s call fos his interim release. </p><p>“Skin and bones nga daw. Medyo talagang...hirap na nga raw tumayo. That’s his situation ngayon. So sana mapagbigyan yung kaniyang interim release. Hindi naman siya flight risk, hindi naman siya threat to national security or whatever. Matanda na yun eh, mapagbigyan na sana,” he said. </p><p>Earlier this month, the Senate passed a resolution urging the ICC to grant Duterte a house arrest for humanitarian reasons. Dela Rosa said they will send a copy to the international court. </p><p>“It carries the weight of the Senate. So sana pakinggan nila yung aming pakiusap for humanitarian consideration and nothing else. Wala naman tayong ibang pakay doon. Whether siya ay masamang tao o mabuting tao, ay kailangan natin ng humanitarian consideration, considering his age.”</p><p>Asked whether he plans to visit Duterte in the Hague, Dela Rosa said he will look into it. </p><p>“Siguruhin muna natin na hindi nila ako i-fast lock doon sa loob pagbibisita ako doon. Baka mamaya bibisita ako doon pero i-fast lock nila ako,” Dela Rosa said.</p><p>The ICC may seek the arrest of Dela Rosa upon the request of the prosecution, while it determines the health and fitness of Duterte to stand trial, ICC-accredited Assistant to Counsel Kristina Conti earlier said Monday.</p><p>Dela Rosa, chief of the Philippine National Police during the Duterte administration, led the bloody drug war which was counted among the alleged crimes against humanity that prompted the former president&#x27;s arrest on March 11 and detention in The Hague, the Netherlands.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/10/13/icc-prosecutors-may-seek-bato-arrest-while-court-awaits-duterte-fitness-test-lawyer-1115">ICC prosecutors may seek Bato arrest while court awaits Duterte fitness test: lawyer</a></div><p>ICC spokesperson Fadi El Abdallah earlier declined to comment on Duterte&#x27;s medical condition.</p><p>&quot;We don’t comment on private matters of the detainees,&quot; he told ABS-CBN News. &quot;The Court takes all necessary measures for the preservation of physical and psychological wellbeing of all detainees.&quot;</p><p>Duterte was arrested at the request of the ICC as part of its probe into his &quot;war on drugs&quot; that defined his presidency.</p><p>The ICC warrant for Duterte&#x27;s arrest said that as president, Duterte allegedly created, funded, and armed death squads that carried out murders of purported drug users and dealers.</p><p>He was brought to The Hague in the Netherlands on the same day he was arrested.</p><p>Duterte on March 14 appeared via video link before ICC judges. </p><p>Duterte’s confirmation of charges hearing, which was supposed to be held last September 23, was postponed to a later date, citing a request from Duterte&#x27;s defense team.</p><p> The ICC Pre-Trial Chamber has rejected the request of Duterte&#x27;s defense team for his interim release.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/10/10/icc-rejects-duterte-s-interim-release-plea-1714">ICC rejects Duterte’s interim release bid</a></div><div><br/></div><div><span class="fr-video fr-deletable fr-fvc fr-dvb fr-draggable" contenteditable="false" draggable="true"><iframe width="640" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/qXBleBgGKkA??si=T8ugffvJKF_4-Cpa&amp;wmode=opaque&amp;rel=0" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen="" class="fr-draggable"></iframe></span><br/></div>
