Eon Sanchez, ABS-CBN News MANILA — Crowds streamed early Sunday into the Manila North Cemetery as Filipinos continued to honor their departed loved ones for All Souls&#x27; Day.</div>Up to 950 visitors were recorded in the cemetery as of 7 a.m., according to police figures.Before sunrise, early visitors were already queuing at the gates, carrying flowers and candles as they braved the morning crowd. Among them was Rowena Cese, who traveled all the way from Laguna to visit the graves of her parents.Cese, who preferred to visit in the morning to avoid what she expected would be a larger crowd in the afternoon, said she had not been able to visit her mother for more than three years due to personal and financial constraints.&quot;&#x27;Pag hindi ko sila nadadalaw, syempre naiisip ko sila dahil hindi ko sila napupuntahan. Kaya pinilit kong makapunta talaga kasi matatagalan na naman akong hindi makakabalik,&quot; she said.(When I&#x27;m not able to visit them, of course I think about them because I can&#x27;t go see them. It feels really different when you have a mother.)The Manila Police District (MPD) deployed officers and K9 units to manage security and assist individuals, while the Manila Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office and Philippine Red Cross stationed medical teams and ambulances nearby.Prohibited items such as alcoholic beverages and cigarettes were confiscated from visitors upon entry.&quot;Mahigpit pa rin ngayong araw na ito. Pinapaalala lang namin dahil kanina, may nakumpiska kaming bike na pilit ipinapasok. Bawal pa po,&quot; said Elisima Maximo, president of the MPD&#x27;s community investigation group.(The rules are still being strictly enforced today. We&#x27;re just reminding everyone because we had to confiscate a bike that someone tried to bring in earlier. It&#x27;s still not allowed.)A day earlier, the Manila North Cemetery recorded over one million visitors, while the Manila South Cemetery logged around 140,000 for All Saints&#x27; Day.
