Eggdrop brings famed K-drama sandwiches to PH

Watching a child relish the snack in the medical drama “Hospital Playlist” left him craving it. </div><p>This inspired Ong, whose company focuses on introducing foreign food brands to the Philippines, to bring the original brand featured in K-dramas to the country.</p><p>“Upon landing [in Korea], I visited the store. So I tried it with the thought of bringing it here if I liked it. So what makes Eggdrop worth a try for Filipinos?</div><p>“The quality of our brioche bread,” Ong said. “The brioche bread recipe is really straight from Korea. We had to really source for good butter.”</p><p>Additionally, the sandwiches use organic, locally sourced eggs, and the &quot;special sauce&quot; features ingredients similarly sourced from local suppliers.</p><div><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1734432800361Eggdrop2.jpg" style="width:960px" class="fr-fic fr-dib"/></div><p>The sandwiches are priced between P120 and P205, depending on the variety. Options include the classic Mr. Egg, made with scrambled eggs, cheese, and sauce; the Bacon Double Cheese, featuring crispy bacon; and the Garlic Bacon Cheese, enhanced with garlic butter.</p><p>“The idea is really to reach out to more Filipinos and make it accessible to everyone. It’s premium quality but it’s very accessible,” Ong said.</p><p>There are also ongoing discussions about developing Filipino-inspired sandwiches, Ong teased.</p><p>The Mall of Asia branch is just the beginning, with more locations in the pipeline, including a branch in Bonifacio Global City expected to open in early 2025.</p>
