Its Berong Nickel Corporation (BNC), meanwhile, is preparing to restart production through its Long Point mine in Aborlan. The mine is in the final stages of securing its mineral production sharing agreement.

“We’re targeting a combined annual production capacity of 3 million (wet metric tons) from our three mines, including Zambales Diversified Metals Corporation (ZDMC), subject to the approval of necessary permits for Long Point,” said DMCI Mining president Tulsi Das Reyes.

In the third quarter of 2024, DMCI Mining contributed P48 million to the P4 billion net income of its parent firm DMCI Holdings--a recovery from the P154 million loss in the same period in 2023.
