It was declared as containing processed food like fish balls.</p><p>However, upon inspection, BOC officials saw frozen chicken from China, which is against the anti-agricultural smuggling act.</p><div><a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/10/22/53-000-kilos-of-smuggled-carrots-from-china-intercepted-by-customs-1841">53,000 kilos of smuggled carrots from China intercepted by Customs</a></div><p>The smugglers allegedly use the &quot;layering&quot; technique, wherein most of the boxes on the outer part of the container were lined up with processed food, with inner boxes containing the smuggled goods.</p><p>&quot;Identified na ang may-ari at ang aming intelligence group is investigating sino pa kasabwat dito,&quot; said BOC Assistant Commissioner Vincent Philip Maronilla.</p><p>(We have identified the consignee and we are still investigating who might be involved here.)</p><p>For his part, Senator Kiko Pangilinan, who joined the BOC on Monday, said the smuggled shipment isn&#x27;t only a health risk, but also poses threats to local poultry sector.</p><p>&quot;Nakokompromiso ang kalusugan pati na ang livestock.
