Thousands of people flock to transport hubs a day ahead of All Saints Day and All Souls Day, to visit loved ones, both living and deceased. <em>Mark Demayo, ABS-CBN News</em> </span></span></span>MANILA — Both Department of Transportation (DOTr) Acting Secretary Giovanni Lopez and Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) General Manager Jay Santiago assured the public that there will be no increase in ship fares and no adjustment in terminal fees at the Batangas Port despite the expected surge of passengers for Undas (All Saints’ and All Souls’ Days).</div><p>Lopez warned shipping lines that if they are caught imposing unauthorized fare hikes, the Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) may revoke their franchise.</p><p>“Yan po ay isang paglabag sa kanilang prangkisa mayroon  po mandato ang gobyerno, kung yan po ay nagtaas sila, hindi po kami magdadalawang isip na irerevoke ang kanilang prangkisa,” Lopez warned.</p><p>Regular fare with Montenegro Shipping Lines is P528 for passengers, while the fare for vehicles is P3,240 with the driver traveling for free on the Batangas-Calapan route.</p><p>Meanwhile, Santiago announced that there will be no increase in terminal fees at the Batangas Port until the end of the year.</p><p>The operator of Batangas Port, Asian Terminals Incorporated (ATI), filed a petition this year to increase the terminal fee from P30 to P100.</p><p>The PPA is still evaluating the petition.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/regions/2025/8/10/ppa-no-terminal-fee-hike-at-batangas-port-while-oriental-mindoro-is-in-state-of-calamity-1620">PPA: No terminal fee hike at Batangas Port while Oriental Mindoro is in state of calamity</a></div><p>“Makikita naman po natin ang napakalaking improvement sa Batangas port and we will take that into consideration po pero hindi po natin sinasabi na makukuha po nila yung 100 but we do recognize yung investments.
