MANILA -- Globe Telecom said its net income fell 14 percent to P17.7 billion in the first 9 months of the year, as consolidated gross service revenues also slipped to P121.7 billion.The company said the bottomline figure already includes non-recurring items, like gains from the deemed disposal of Mynt shares, and higher equity earnings from affiliates. These helped partly offset increased depreciation, interest expense, and other non-operating charges. Stripping these off, net income fell 15 percent to P15.5 billion.Globe said the operating environment remains challenging even as inflation eased and household spending capacity went up.&quot;Persistent industry competition and the localized economic impact of the typhoons that struck during the period added further pressure,&quot; it said.The telco giant said its mobile business is still its biggest revenue driver, contributing P86.2 billion.Mobile data revenues soared to an all-time high of P25.2 billion in the third quarter alone, bringing total mobile data revenues to a record P74 billion in the first nine months.Globe’s home broadband business also contributed P17.8 billion in revenues in the first three quarters.Meanwhile, Mynt, the parent company of GCash, maintained strong performance.
