Mark Demayo, ABS-CBN News/File</span></span></span></div><p>MANILA — The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) said Wednesday it granted the request of ride-hailing companies to move the start of the surge pricing cap to Dec. 19.</p><p>The surge pricing cap was <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/12/16/sad-christmas-for-tnvs-drivers-over-surge-pricing-cut-group-1044">supposed to start on Dec. 17</a>, but LTFRB Chairperson Vigor D. Mendoza II said they heeded the request of Transport Network Companies (TNCs) for more time to prepare their system for the fare adjustment.</p><p>“We understand the concerns raised by the TNCs and on the part of the LTFRB.
