Metro Manila has enough water supply until end of dry season: MWSS

<p><strong></strong>MANILA — Most of Metro Manila and its nearby provinces will have enough water supply until the end of the current dry season, the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System (MWSS) said Tuesday.</p><p>Metro Manila and some of its surrounding provinces get the bulk of their water needs from Angat Dam.</p><p>&quot;Sufficient &#x27;yung ating tubig this summer hanggang matapos &#x27;yung summer,&quot; MWSS acting deputy administrator Patrick Dizon said.</p><p>He said Angat Dam&#x27;s water level as of Tuesday morning was at 207.4 meters. </p><p>This is 13 meters higher compared to the 194-meter level of Angat Dam during the same period last year, he told TeleRadyo Serbisyo.</p><p>Angat Dam&#x27;s normal-high water level is at 212 meters, according to state weather bureau PAGASA.</p><p>This year&#x27;s <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/weather-traffic/2025/4/14/tv-patrol-maalinsangang-panahon-inaasahang-titindi-pa-2036">dry season started late last month</a> and is expected to end in May.</p><div><br/></div><div><strong>REPAIRS, ADDITIONAL WATER SOURCES</strong></div><div><br/></div><p><strong></strong>Meanwhile, Dizon advised households to stock reserve water for upcoming repairs this Holy Week. </p><p>The repairs will typically run from 10 p.m. until 4 a.m., he said.</p><p>Construction of additional water sources in Laguna and Rizal is expected to be completed by the end of the year.</p><p>&quot;&#x27;Yung ating 90 percent na dependency sa Angat Dam ay ine-expect natin na bababa na ito at magiging 86 to 75 percent by end of December this year,&quot; he said.</p><div><span class="fr-video fr-deletable fr-fvc fr-dvb fr-draggable" contenteditable="false" draggable="true"><iframe width="640" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/iIijIHaL3Z8?&amp;wmode=opaque&amp;rel=0" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen="" class="fr-draggable"></iframe></span><br/></div>
