MRT-3 to extend operating hours indefinitely

MANILA —  The MRT-3 is extending its weekday operating hours indefinitely, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) said Sunday.

This, after the agency extended the train's operating hours until 11 p.m. in late March.

The DOTr said the extended operating hours served 29,530 passengers from March 24 to March 28 and 31,474 passengers from March 31 to April 4.

The MRT-3 will also continue to deploy additional train sets to improve rush hour travel.

Transportation Secretary Vince DIzon earlier said that the DOTr was extending the rail's operating hours to accommodate Filipinos who work late.
