MANILA -- Megaworld is spending P2.5 billion to &#x27;revitalize&#x27; Eastwood City, its first-ever township development.In a statement, the property giant said it is giving a facelift to Eastwood Mall, Eastwood Citywalk, and the Eastwood Mall Open Park. The company said Eastwood Mall already has refreshed interiors, upgraded cinemas, and new tenants. The cinema space of Eastwood Cirywalk, meanwhile, now houses the new theater of Repertory Philippines, while its fourth floor has been redesigned to have a food park.Megaworld said the Eastwood Mall Open Park will soon have an open-air space with food and beverage shops like Harlan + Holden, SaladStop!, Matcha Tokyo, and Jamba Juice.The firm also said it will improve the interiors of Eastwood Richmonde Hotel, and upgrade the lobbies, facilities, and amenities of its office buildings and residential towers.“Eastwood City holds a special place in our history as Megaworld’s very first township, and this redevelopment reflects our commitment to keeping it vibrant, relevant, and future-ready,&quot; said Megaworld President Lourdes Gutierrez-Alfonso.Eastwood City has 23 residential condominium towers, 11 office buildings, and 3 lifestyle malls. Launched in 1997, Eastwood City is the country’s first IT cyberpark, and is widely regarded as the birthplace of the business process outsourcing (BPO) industry in the Philippines.
