MANILA — Department of Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon said on Monday he would ask the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board to file a criminal complaint against the bus conductor who allegedly tasered a person with disability.

The license of the bus driver has been suspended for 90 days following the incident. Dizon said it was the responsibility of the driver to ensure the safety of its passengers.

Dizon added that based on the investigation, the penalty should go beyond suspension.

"Based on investigation yung kundoktor mismo ang nag-taser. Hindi lang suspension, kaso yan criminal yon. Hindi na kelangan victim ang magkaso. I will direct now LTFRB to file a case through the prosecutor, against the conductor alleged sya mismo nag-taser sa PWD," Dizon said.

"Unacceptable kaso yan, criminal case yan against the conductor, we will file that on our own through the city prosecutor," he said in a briefing with LTO and LTFRB.

Land Transportation Office Chief Vigor Mendoza said the LTO also suspended 15 buses of the bus company that plies the EDSA bus carousel.

A hearing was set on June 25 to allow the driver and the conductor to explain their side.
