House OKs proposed ERC reform act on final reading
The House of Representatives, voting 170-4-0, approved on third and final reading on Wednesday a measure seeking to reform and restructure the Energy Regulatory Commission.
The House of Representatives, voting 170-4-0, approved on third and final reading on Wednesday a measure seeking to reform and restructure the Energy Regulatory Commission.
House Bill 11373 or the proposed ERC Reform Act seeks to reconstitute the ERC as an independent, accountable, quasi-judicial, and rule-making body. It stipulates that the ERC shall be allowed to use 50% of its revenues generated from the collection of fees, assessments, licenses, and other charges, and how such amount shall be utilized.
