The Trade Union Congress of the Philippines is urging the President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. not to veto a legislated wage increase that will benefit minimum wage earners all over the country.TUCP President and House Deputy Speaker Raymond Democrito Mendoza noted the previous administration raised the salaries of policeman and members of the Armed Forces.“This time this will be the legacy of PBBM, that he raised the salary of all 5 million minimum wage earners. (Kung) anong desisyon ng both Congress and the Senate, hopefully he will respect that,” he said in a DZMM interview.The House of Representatives on Wednesday <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/business/2025/6/4/house-oks-bill-for-p200-hike-in-daily-wage-on-third-and-final-reading-1751">approved</a> on third and final reading a bill seeking to mandate a P200 hike in the daily wage of minimum wage workers in the private sector. The Senate approved a counterpart bill seeking a P100 wage increase last year.
