What is a Digital TIN ID?
The Digital TIN ID is the electronic version of the traditionally-printed TIN ID issued by BIR, announced available through the Revenue Memorandum Circular No. 120-2023 dated November 29, 2023.

How to apply for a Digital TIN ID?
According to BIR, one must first create an account via the BIR website. The following application steps are enumerated for taxpayers’ reference:

- Log-in to your ORUS account
- Click View your Digital TIN ID button under the Get your Digital TIN ID menu
- Click the add photo button for the uploading of your picture according to the following specifications:
- Size: 1 x 1 photo with white background and no borders, taken no later than six month to reflect current appearance
- Appearance: Photo must be front-facing, showing both ears, with neutral expression, and no teeth showing
- Check if all the information displayed is correct and updated
- Last, Click Generate Digital TIN ID

- Click View your Digital TIN ID button under the Get your Digital TIN ID menu

The Digital TIN ID is free of charge and not for sale whereas BIR warns against the availing of assistance services from online sellers which may cause receipt of invalid or fake TIN and cause impact on their future transactions with the bureau.
