MANILA — Student finally have their own lane in each station of the Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) and Light Rail Transit Line 2 (LRT-2) beginning Friday, July 4.

The Department of Transportation said student lanes will eliminate queueing at stations, as student discount was increased from 20 percent to 50 percent effective until 2028.

Student, including those taking post-graduate programs, are required to present their student IDs with current school year or proof of enrollment to avail the discount.

“Kabilin-bilinan ni Pangulong Bongbong Marcos na paginhawain natin ang buhay ng mga komyuter. Queueing systems will be implemented in LRT-1 stations to “manage passenger flow and minimize delays for students availing discounts,” said DOTr.
