MANILA – President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. on Tuesday said he approved the salary increase and a “tiered” medical allowance for Government-Owned and Controlled Corporations (GOCC) employees, citing their hard work.GOCC revenues stood at P117 billion so far this year, according to Finance Secretary Ralph Recto, and this is projected to hit around P157 billion by the end of the year.Marcos said this is why he already approved the Compensation and Position Classification System II – the equivalent of the salary grade – for GOCC employees.“And in support of the hardworking men and women who make this possible, I have approved the Compensation and Position Classification System II that will increase the salaries of GOCC employees. Well-deserved naman,” said Marcos in his speech for this year’s GOCC Day.“I have also approved the provision of a tiered medical allowance for GOCC employees depending on the capacity, of course, of the GOCC,” he added. Marcos said increases were retroactive from Jan. 1, 2025 for GOCCs that implemented CPCS 1.This was still subject to the receipt of their authority to implement from the Governance Commission for GOCCs.No other details were available on how high the salary adjustments would be.“As you well know, &#x27;yung sa national government nag-increase na po tayo last year. Actually, next year will be the third tranche na tayo for national government agencies,” Budget Secretary Amenah Pangandaman said. “So I think it came as a surprise. Hindi nila alam na na-aprubahan na po ating Pangulo &#x27;yung kanilang salary increase. And at the same time kung mababalitaan niyo &#x27;di ba before merong medical allowance para sa national government agencies. Meron na rin po silang medical allowance.
