Enrique Razon’s megaFUNalo! partners with Gioco to add Filipino-themed games

MANILA — Bloomberry’s online gaming platform megaFUNalo! has partnered with Filipino game development studio Gioco to integrate Filipino-made games into the platform.MegaFUNalo!, a PAGCOR-licensed platform which was soft launched a few months ago, is expected to grow further this year with this new partnership as it entices local players with local themes. Among the new games are Jeepney Go and Cash Cash Fiesta.“We’ve been able to continuously increase our user base. So we’re very excited. I definitely think the partnership with Gioco is gonna help expand that as we’re get more of our content to being Filipino-made,” said megaFUNalo! And I think Gioco’s game development is also very much targeted to local themes and culture,” Sherafat added.Gioco Chief Executive Officer Maricar Nepomuceno said she is happy with the partnership as this will elevated the Filipino game development industry. They have another platform to show the talents and skills of local developers.“There is a good future for Filipino game development. This would actually excite our developers to stay here in the country and promote game development as well,” Nepomuceno said.Despite the backlash on online gaming last year, officials also reiterate their push for responsible gaming. Guidelines on its platform include: only 21 years old and above can play and that government officials or employees are not allowed including the military and police. Tools and resources are also provided to manage the activities like setting deposit limits, time-outs, among others.
