MANILA – SM Prime Holdings is set to open four new malls this year, all of them outside Metro Manila, as the number of visits to its malls hit 1.4 billion in 2025.The Philippines largest mall operator also said that the new mall on the site of the old Harrison Plaza in Manila, is set to be completed next year. In an online briefing with journalists, SM Prime officials said two of the new malls will be in Mindanao–SM Zamboanga and SM Tagum–while the other two will be in Southern Luzon–SM General Trias and SM Sta. Rosa. Several new malls are also in the pipeline in the coming years, including Harrison Plaza.“Harrison is actually on its way as well in terms of construction and development. And then we have other malls, particularly that are being developed for the last three years across Pasay and Bulacan,” said Joaquin San Agustin, SM Supermalls Executive Vice President for Marketing.SM Supermalls said average visits hit 115 million monthly across its malls all over the Philippines. Foot traffic peaked at 153 million in December, as shoppers rushed to buy gifts during the holiday season. That month, daily foot traffic was at about 5.5 million on weekends and 4.6 million on weekdays.In 2024, SM said its average daily foot traffic hit a record 5.2 million, from the 4.9 million it saw in 2023. SM attributed its foot traffic numbers to &quot;innovative property attractions complemented by a dynamic tenant mix.&quot; In 2025, SM Supermalls opened MOA Sky, a rooftop park at the SM Mall of Asia.
