MANILA  – Pag-IBIG Fund on Thursday announced a major expansion of its regional property fairs, offering thousands of heavily subsidized homes to low-income workers in South Luzon and the Visayas.The housing lender said it will showcase over 40,000 units across two upcoming events in Laguna and Cebu, part of the Marcos administration&#x27;s &quot;Expanded Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino&quot; (4PH) program. The initiative aims to bridge the country’s massive housing gap by centralizing private developers and government financing in a single venue, Pag-IBIG said.&quot;By continuing these housing fairs in South Luzon and the Visayas, Pag-IBIG Fund is bringing together leading private developers, Pag-IBIG Fund’s affordable financing programs, and government assistance in one accessible venue,&quot; said DHSUD Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling. He added the goal is to help workers &quot;move from simply hoping for a home to actually taking concrete steps toward owning one.&quot;Under the 4PH program, the government is offering interest rates as low as 3 percent for the first five to ten years—significantly lower than commercial bank rates. In some socialized housing projects, such as those in Bacolod, monthly amortizations can be as low as P1,703.Pag-IBIG Fund CEO Marilene Acosta said the program targets low-income earners and overseas Filipino workers, offering payments that are &quot;often lower than prevailing rental costs.&quot;&quot;This allows members not only to realize possible savings on monthly housing costs, but also to build long-term household stability, equity, and a more secure future,&quot; Acosta said, noting that the fairs provide &quot;financing guidance&quot; to help members compare options.The South Luzon fair is scheduled for April 27–28 in Calamba City, followed by the Visayas leg in Cebu City on April 30 and May 1.
