Handout/BOC</div>MANILA — The Bureau of Internal Revenue on Wednesday said it has taken custody of 19 vehicles owned by government contractor Curlee and Sara Discaya that were link to ongoing tax investigations.A turnover was held at the St. Gerrard compound in Pasig City, immediately following the release of said vehicles from the custody of the Bureau of Customs. Customs Assistant Commissioner Vincent Philip Maronilla said 17 of these luxury vehicles were imported by legitimate dealers. With respect to the Discaya couple, alam naman natin na nafile na yung criminal case, but yung kanilang civil liability is still being finalize and the issuance of the warrants of constructive restraint is to preserve the interest of the government in connection to the audit case,” Roldan said.In a separate statement, the BIR said 15 of these vehicles registered under the name of the Discaya couple were placed under &quot;constructive distraint&quot; to preserve assets while still under investigations, while 4 other vehicles were subjected to &quot;constructive seizure&quot; in line with existing tax assessment involving St. Gerrard Construction General Contractor &amp; Development Corp..Roldan explained the BIR does not intend to pull the cars of the Discaya couple from its compound in Pasig City but it has already sealed these vehicle for safe keeping.“Dun sa subject to the warrant of seizure, then that will go to the process of auction para maging collection.  Sa distraint naman, basically hindi puwedeng galawin yung mga sasakyan dahil nga may ongoing tax audit case na in the event na ‘pag naging final po yun — yun yung puwedeng gamitin para ma-fullfill yung kanilang obligation sa gobyerno,” Roldan explained further.<div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/3/10/customs-turns-over-p100-million-auction-proceeds-from-discaya-vehicles-1129">Customs turns over P100-million auction proceeds from Discaya vehicles</a></div>The BIR in 2025 filed criminal tax cases with the Department of Justice against the Discayas for over P7.18 billion in tax liabilities.
