At in case po na magkulang iyon, pupuwede naman pong mag-request ng additional budget ang implementing agency via the contingent fund, but subject po iyan sa approval ng Office of the President,” Budget Undersecretary Goddes Hope Libiran said in a Palace press briefing.</p><p>She said that while agencies have discussed expanding coverage of assistance, there have been no &quot;definite or official requests coming from implementing agencies&quot; for more money.</p><p>“Sa kanila po kasi manggagaling eh. So, kapag nag-request sila at kung mayroon naman po tayong available funding source at kumpleto naman iyong mga requirements nila, then we will study and facilitate po iyong process ng pag-release ng pondo kung kailangan po talaga,” Libiran added.</p><p>She said the Department of Transportation&#x27;s request to continue service contracting and fuel subsidies is still under review to check utilization rate and documentary requirements, according to Libiran.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/business/2026/4/21/philippines-has-52-days-of-oil-supply-palace-says-1652">Philippines has 52 days of oil supply, Palace says<br/></a></div><p>“As I mentioned earlier, mabilis naman pong umaksyon ang DBM pagdating sa ganiyan lalo na kung mayroon naman po tayong available na pondong pagkukunan,” she said.</p><p>The budget department has also launched its ‘Unified Package for Livelihoods, Industry, Food, and Transport’ (UPLIFT) microsite, where the public can monitor the government’s efforts to cushion the impact of surging oil prices prompted by the US and Israel&#x27;s attack on Iran in late February.</p><p>Retaliatory strikes and blockades by both Iran and the US have disrupted shipments of oil through the Strait of Hormuz.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/world/2026/4/30/trump-eyeing-iran-blockade-lasting-months-if-needed-white-house-official-0756">Trump warns Iran blockade could last months, sending oil soaring<br/></a></div><p>Libiran said the microsite is meant to be a “transparency tool” and to help the public get reliable information on goverment response to the crisis.</p><p>“So ang dami po kasing kumakalat na maling impormasyon, may kumakalat na balita na walang ginagawa ang gobyerno, which is not true at all,” the budget official said.</p>
