So, sinabi natin na bilang partners dapat sila na gumastos,” he said.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/4/23/dswd-gov-t-could-have-lost-p2-7b-to-ghost-drivers-without-physical-payout-1718" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">DSWD: Gov&#x27;t could have lost P2.7B to &#x27;ghost&#x27; drivers without physical payout</a></div><p>The number of claimants, Gatchalian said, will also be smaller today to avoid overcrowding.</p><p>“Niliitan natin yung bilang kada araw - mas hahaba lang yung period pero masigigurado natin na hindi makaka-overcrowding kasi ang iniiwasan natin nga yung sobrang init na tapos marami pang tao sa loob so makaka-contribute yun sa disgrasya,” Gatchalian added.</p><p>Cesar Aquino, a dialysis patient who used to be a driver of a TNC company before he was hospitalized, told ABS-CBN News that he will use the P5,000 cash aid he received from the agency to buy his medicines.</p><p>“Sa ngayon, hindi muna, kasi yung mata medyo malabo na. Kailangan ulit i-laser, plus may CKD stage 5 na rin ako, so nagda-dialysis na rin ako. Kung magda-drive man ako, 2 beses lang sa isang linggo,”  Aquino said.</p><p>“Actually, pambiling gamot…yun talaga yung purpose namin dito eh. Mabilis naman kasi nga dahil may kapansanan ka na, may sakit ka - inuuna nila, priority nila,” Aquino added.</p><p>According to Aquino, he was informed by his TNC on Saturday that his payout schedule is today, May 11, 2026.</p><p>Based on DSWD&#x27;s previous statements, an estimated 2 million qualified driver beneficiaries will receive P5, 000 each and it is targeting to finish the cash aid distribution on May 20.</p><p>Gatchalian said that for TNCs alone, an estimated 400,000 drivers are yet to get their cash aid. He also explained that special payout continues for tricycle drivers and public utility drivers outside Metro Manila. </p>
