MANILA — ABS-CBN News Senior Reporter <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/author/raphael-bosano">Raphael Bosano</a> was selected as one of twelve journalists from across Asia, Africa, and the Americas who will cover and report the 30th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP30) in Belém, Brazil, as Climate Change Media Partner Fellow.The COP30 CCMP Reporting Fellowship program is co-organized by Internews&#x27; Earth Journalism Network (EJN) and the Stanley Center.COP30 will convene on the 10th anniversary of the adoption of the Paris Agreement, when countries agreed to the goal of limiting global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius.According to EJN Executive Director James Fahn, this year’s COP is important for coverage.&quot;This high-ambition COP comes at a time of geopolitical and financial uncertainty for many countries, organizations, and media houses attempting to address and report on climate change,&quot; Fahn said.The 12 fellows covering COP30 in Belém will participate in orientation activities, daily briefings, interviews with high-level officials, and other networking events organized by the Stanley Center and EJN to facilitate quality reporting on developments and outcomes at COP30. The fellows will receive support and guidance from seasoned climate journalists affiliated with EJN’s global network of trainers, who will accompany them to Belém.Bosano is ABS-CBN News’ lead reporter for Science. He covers critical topics, including the environment, climate change, disasters, and their consequential effects on communities. Prior to his current role, his coverage focused on public health and disease outbreaks. His longest-running coverage so far was during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic when the Philippines imposed one of the longest lockdowns and mask mandates throughout the world.Bosano is also an award-winning storyteller, having received accolades for his pandemic documentary “Heroes In The Hot Zone” and Marawi siege special “Paglayang Minamahal” (Beloved Freedom). Most recently, Bosano served as one of the documentarists of “Lubog sa Katiwalian” (Drowning in a Sea of Corrpution) — an investigative piece that looked into the anomalous flood control projects in the Philippines.Previously, Bosano was named a 2024 Metcalf Institute Fellow for Science Reporting at the University of Rhode Island.<div>WATCH: </div><div><iframe width="640" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/CTz8aDj5HNQ?&amp;wmode=opaque&amp;rel=0" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen="" class="fr-draggable"></iframe> </div>
