Alice Guo's bail petition denied

MANILA -- A Pasig court has denied the bail petition of dismissed Bambam, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo for her qualified human trafficking case, Prosecutor General Richard Fadullon said Friday.

“The evidence of the prosecution was found to be strong,” Fadullon said.

Guo's lawyer Nicole Jamilla earlier said the former official was anxious about spending the holiday season at the Pasig City Jail Female Dormitory.

“Nagwo-worry kasi September siya na-detain. That’s three months so magpa-Pasko. ‘Yong feeling na may possibility na made-detain siya during the holidays. Andun ‘yong worry, burden. Stress talaga sa kanya,” Jamilla said last week.

Guo faces multiple charges from different courts due to her alleged involvement in the illegal operations of Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO).  

She denied that she was a mastermind in POGO operations.
