Thousands of families are expected to visit the Quezon Memorial Circle in Quezon City on Wednesday, December 25, Christmas Day.Quezon Memorial Circle administrator Windsor Bueno told ABS-CBN News that around 14,993 park goers visited the park on December 24, 2023.This year, only a few families have spent their time at the park.Bueno believes that this was due to light rains since this morning.“Ang dating ng tao ngayon ay matumal po kasi dahil sa weather natin. Maulan-ulan kaya &#x27;yung dating ngayon hindi pa gaano nagpupunta &#x27;yung mga pamilya dito. Bukas, mas maraming pupunta dito na mga pamilya na magpi-picnic, mga magkakaibigan,” Bueno said.Last year, Bueno said the Quezon Memorial Circle had 60,440 visitors on Christmas Day.“We expect na mas mababa po &#x27;yung pagdating ng mga tao ngayon dahil nga po sa mayroon po tayong ongoing rehabilitation. Dalawa po &#x27;yung under rehabilitation na playground natin, kaya ito lang po &#x27;yung natitirang playground sa ngayon,” according to Bueno.Imelda Morta and her family members are spending their Christmas eve at the Quezon Memorial Circle.They brought with them ready-to-eat food like spaghetti, rice and chicken adobo.Some members of her family came from Cebu and Bulacan province and decided to spend their Christmas in Quezon City, with Morta saying that this serves as their annual family reunion.“Ang saya-saya promise… &#x27;yun ang pinaka-ano ko... magpasaya sa pamilya… kahit maliit na bagay lang nakakasaya, ang sarap tingnan ba na natutuwa sila sa binibigay mo,” she said.The Quezon Memorial Circle opens at 5:00 a.m and will close at 12:00 midnight, according to Bueno.He added that it is also preparing for the traditional annual year-end countdown on December 31 which will start at 5:00 p.m. until New Year.<div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/weather-traffic/2024/12/22/thousands-flock-to-pitx-more-expected-amid-christmas-rush-1215">Thousands flock to PITX, more expected amid Christmas rush</a></div>
