Yasser Al-Zayyat, AFP/File" style="width:960px"/>Police officers man a checkpoint south of Kuwait City.  Yasser Al-Zayyat, AFP/File</div>MANILA (UPDATED) — The Philippine Embassy in Kuwait assured its cooperation with local authorities regarding the case involving a Filipino domestic worker who allegedly killed a Kuwaiti child.&quot;The Philippine Embassy in Kuwait is shocked and deeply saddened by the tragic incident of a Filipino domestic worker involved in the death of a Kuwaiti child in her employer’s household,&quot; the embassy said in a statement.<div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/overseas/11/04/16/hundreds-of-ofws-in-kuwait-hit-by-delayed-salaries">Hundreds of OFWs in Kuwait hit by delayed salaries</a></div>The Filipina domestic helper reportedly confessed to killing the Kuwaiti child by placing him inside a washing machine, according to a Gulf News report.She allegedly committed the crime &quot;out of frustration,&quot; the report added. The embassy extended its condolences to the family of the victim.&quot;The Embassy is cooperating with Kuwaiti authorities investigating the incident and is also providing assistance to the detained Filipino domestic worker, within the framework of Kuwaiti law and in keeping with the Embassy’s mandate,&quot; it said.&quot;This isolated incident does not reflect the character of Filipinos and the Filipino community in Kuwait, who are recognized for their hard work, reliability, and positive contribution to society.&quot;In a separate statement, the Department of Migrant Workers said it is &quot;deeply concerned&quot; about the incident.&quot;We convey our sincere condolences to the child&#x27;s family and the Kuwaiti government,&quot; it added.The DMW said it is working with Philippine agencies and Kuwaiti authorities &quot;while extending the necessary assistance to the subject domestic worker, with due regard to Kuwaiti laws and the DMW mandate.&quot;It also called the incident isolated, saying it does not reflect the values of overseas Filipino workers and other Filipinos abroad.<div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/06/09/17/family-of-ofw-executed-in-kuwait-visits-mas-grave-for-the-first-time">Family of OFW executed in Kuwait visits ma&#x27;s grave for the first time</a></div>The victim&#x27;s parents heard their child’s cries and rushed to rescue him, according to Gulf News. The child was brought to a hospital, where he died.Kuwaiti police have taken the domestic helper in custody, and an investigation is underway.
