Sinabihan lang ng ating embassy na take care lang at sumunod lang sa anumang direktibo ng local authorities,&quot; he said.</p><p>De Vega said around 78,000 Filipinos are currently in South Korea, including both documented and undocumented migrants. Most of them are working as plant and machine operators.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/world/2024/12/3/south-korean-military-says-martial-law-will-remain-until-lifted-by-president-0204">South Korean military says martial law will remain until lifted by president</a></div><p>&quot;Yung conditions are special and lahat ng lumalakbay lalo na &#x27;yung mga nagtatrabaho doon hindi sila nababahala masyado dahil tuloy naman &#x27;yung kanilang pamumuhay doon kung anumang mangyari,&quot; the official said.</p><p>De Vega said no alert level was raised and no travel restrictions were imposed for Filipinos going to South Korea.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/world/2024/12/3/timeline-south-korea-s-yoon-suk-yeol-declares-martial-law-0120">TIMELINE: South Korea’s Yoon Suk Yeol declares martial law</a></div><p>However, he advised Filipino tourists to consider the current political climate in South Korea, especially if they intend to visit the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ).</p><p>“Minsan sinasara &#x27;yun, minsan hindi pwedeng pumunta o lumapit ang mga turista. &#x27;Yun isa pang planuhin nila pero walang dahilan para kanselahin yung trip, hindi naman mapanganib pero isipin niyo na palaging may tension sa Korea dahil sa political situation,” the DFA official elaborated.</p><p>“Hindi namin kayo sinasabihan na &#x27;wag na kayong pumunta pero kailangan niyong maintindihan na sa South Korea ganito ang politics diyan.
