MANILA -- The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) will temporarily allow provincial buses to use EDSA starting December 20 until January 2, 2025, MMDA chairman Romando Artes announced Friday.

In a press conference, Artes said this is to help provincial buses cater more passengers going to their provinces this holiday season.

"On a regular basis hindi sila allowed sa EDSA pero papayagan natin sila starting December 20 starting 10 p.m. hanggang 5 a.m." Artes said.

From December 26 to January 2, provincial buses will be allowed on EDSA 24-hours.

Based on MMDA data, more than 2,000 provincial bus units will benefit from the move.

Artes added that there are 45 provincial bus terminals on EDSA, 27 are stationed on northbound and 18 are southbound.

The DPWH-NCR also announced on Friday it will repair the 5-decade-old box culvert that collapsed this November along Roxas Blvd., in Parañaque City.
