The baby, named Alea, is one of the first members of the so-called &#x27;Generation Beta&#x27; which is the first generation to be born in the age of generative AI.<em> Kaxandra Salonga, ABS-CBN News </em></span></span></span></div><div><br/></div><p>MANILA - At exactly 12 a.m., the first New Year baby of 2025 was born at the Dr. Jose Fabella Memorial Hospital.</p><p>The baby girl was delivered by Lea Mae Razo, 27, a first-time mother who carried the child for 40 weeks.</p><p>“Mahirap po talaga mag-labor. Lahat ng sakit mararanasan mo. Pero pag nakita mo na si baby, mawawala na. Worth it kahit papaano,” said Razo, who had been in labor since 11 a.m.</p><p>(It’s really hard to go through labor. You’ll experience all kinds of pain. But when you see your baby, it all goes away. Somehow, it’s all worth it.)</p><p>“Ang wish ko lang naman para sa baby ko is manatili siyang healthy, lumaki siyang may takot sa Diyos at may discipline,” she added.</p><p>(My only wish for my baby is for her to stay healthy, grow up fearing God, and have discipline.)</p><p>Razo named her baby Alea Jayde, a combination of her and her husband’s names.</p><p>Despite being away from her own family this New Year, midwife May Alipio, 30, was overjoyed that she assisted in the delivery of the year’s first baby.</p><p>“Iba yung happiness, iba yung pakiramdam lalo na’t wala akong anak. Ganun pala ang feeling,” Alipio said.</p><p>(The happiness is different; the feeling is unique, especially since I don’t have children of my own. So this is how it feels.)</p><p>Dr. Jeglen Cruz, Senior House Officer of the hospital, said the baby and her mother are still under observation should any complications arise.</p><p>“Yung new year baby brings hope joy and perseverance sa pamilya natin, sa community natin and also as a nation,” Cruz said.</p><p>(A New Year baby brings hope, joy, and perseverance to our families, our communities, and even to the nation.)</p><p>Almost an hour later, the hospital welcomed another baby girl, also born to a 24-year-old first-time mother who had been in labor since 4:49 p.m.</p><div>Babies born from 2025 to 2039 are said to be part of Generation Beta, the first generation that is native to Generative AI. <span class="fr-video fr-deletable fr-fvc fr-dvb fr-draggable" contenteditable="false" draggable="true"><iframe width="640" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/bfPnAdmGPvw?&amp;wmode=opaque&amp;rel=0" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen="" class="fr-draggable"></iframe></span></div><div><span class="fr-video fr-deletable fr-fvc fr-dvb fr-draggable" contenteditable="false" draggable="true"><iframe width="640" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/4JMxRaOaqIg?&amp;wmode=opaque&amp;rel=0" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen="" class="fr-draggable"></iframe></span><br/></div>
