"Hindi lang po ngayong taon pinagbabawal ang pagsampa [sa andas]. Nagsimula na tayo last year pero mayron pa ring mga deboto na nagtangkang sumampa. Hopefully, sa pagkakataong ito, makipagcooperate na ang sino mang dadalo," Rev. Fr. Robert Arellano, spokesperson and parochial vicar of Minor Basilica and National Shrine of Jesus Nazareno, said in an interview with TeleRadyo Serbisyo's Johnson Ikwento Mo.

Arellano added that the carriage has been further modified for this year's Traslacion so that devotees would not have any stepping area in case they attempt to get on the carriage.

"Mayroon pa ring krus na nakaawang [sa likod] para makita ang bahagi ng imahen sa likod pero wala na tayong spaces on both ends. 'Yung last year kasi mayroon tayong kaunting mga awang na kung saan pwede silang makaapak," he said.

He also said a ventilation system has been added in the carriage to prevent last year's incident wherein the glass had moisture on them which prevented the devotees from clearly seeing the Nazareno.

Arellano also clarified that only members of the Hijos del Nazareno are allowed to be technically on the carriage as they will be responsible for protecting the carriage.

Meanwhile, they do not yet have an estimate on how many people would be attending but said that they are expecting more devotees from other parts of the country since restrictions from the country have been eased.
