<p>MANILA -- The suspect behind the killing of overseas Filipino worker Dafnie Nacalaban in Kuwait has been convicted by a Kuwaiti court, the Department of Migrant Workers reported. </p><p>DMW Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac said the court handed down a 14-year sentence against the perpetrator. </p><p>&quot;Dafnie Nacalaban, siya &#x27;yung nakita sa isang hardin sa Kuwait early this year. Nagkaroon ng paglilitis sa salarin, mainly dun sa taong itinuro na may dahilan ng kanyang pagkapaslang at ang hatol ng Kuwait courts ay 14 na taon na pagkakakulong,&quot; Cacdac told reporters in an interview Wednesday, October 15. </p><p>(Dafnie Nacalaban was found in a garden in Kuwait earlier this year. Nahatulan ng tig-isang taon yung 3 accomplices,&quot; Cacdac noted. </p><p>(The accomplices did not immediately reveal what happened to her. The three accomplices were each sentenced to one year in prison.)</p><p>Cacdac extended his gratitude to the Kuwaiti authorities for the full cooperation.</p><p>&quot;The processes may still not be over in terms of the possibility of appeal but already we are thankful to the Kuwaiti authorities for the judgement that delivers justice to Dafne and her family,&quot; he said. </p><p>Cacdac vowed that they will continue to monitor the situation on the part of their lawyers who work closely with the Kuwaiti prosecutorial authorities. </p><p>The DMW chief added that he personally met Nacalaban&#x27;s husband and teenage daughter and assured them of support and assistance.</p><div><br/></div><div><span class="fr-video fr-deletable fr-fvc fr-dvb fr-draggable" contenteditable="false" draggable="true"><iframe width="640" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/uDZhmKDG9OI?&amp;wmode=opaque&amp;rel=0" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen="" class="fr-draggable"></iframe></span><br/></div>
