<p>MANILA — Former Philippine National Police (PNP) chief General Nicolas Torre III is weighing his next steps as he nears retirement from the police service.</p><p>Torre, who officially went on leave after stepping down on August 26, will remain on leave until the end of the month. </p><p>With his retirement set for March 2027, many are speculating about his next move but the former police chief says he has not made any decisions yet.</p><p>&quot;We’ll cross the bridge when we get there,” Torre told ABS-CBN News in an exclusive interview.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/8/26/pnp-chief-nicolas-torre-relieved-from-post-palace-0813"><strong>Torre sacked as PNP chief as Marcos backs Napolcom authority</strong></a></div><p>&quot;May mga ilang araw pa naman ako para makapag-decide kung ano talaga ang gagawin ko after na aking leave.”</p><p>During his break, Torre is turning his attention to a personal advocacy: fighting bullying.</p><p>He is organizing an anti-bullying fun run on November 16 in Santa Rosa, Laguna—a campaign, he said, was inspired by what he witnessed and personally experienced.</p><p>“Nagkaroon tayo ng oras para gawin ang mga advocacies na malapit sa puso natin and one of those is the anti-bullying kasi nakita natin ‘yung nasa iba-ibang mga social media, mga batang binu-bully, mga iba-ibang mga tao, na kahit ako ko nga, kahit na CPNP ako or kahit nung hindi pa man ako CPNP, ranking officer na ako, binu-bully pa rin ako,” Torre said.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/8/27/torre-unfairly-treated-but-committed-lapses-ex-ph-constabulary-officer-1028"><strong>Torre &#x27;unfairly treated&#x27; but committed lapses - ex-PH Constabulary officer </strong></a> </div><p>The event aims to raise awareness about the emotional and psychological impact of bullying, especially among the youth. </p><div><strong>TORRE TO TESTIFY IN QUIBOLOY CASE</strong></div><p>Aside from his advocacy work, Torre confirmed he is set to testify in court on October 23 in connection with the cases involving Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) leader Pastor Apollo Quiboloy.</p><p>“I am set to testify kay Quinoloy sa October 23 sa Pasig. I just don&#x27;t know kung ‘yan ay matuloy kasi I&#x27;m still on leave at that time at may ibang conflict actually sa aking schedule on that day. So maybe the prosecution team will ask for leave of court. Tingnan natin kung ano ang pwede magawa diyan,” Torre said. </p><div><strong>NO GOVERNMENT POST OFFER YET</strong></div><p>Despite reports that President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. may offer him a new post, Torre said no formal offer has been made.</p><p>Still, he reaffirmed his full support for the current administration and its programs.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/8/27/-i-m-a-good-soldier-torre-says-he-respects-decision-to-relieve-him-as-pnp-chief-1851" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><strong>&#x27;I&#x27;m a good soldier&#x27;: Torre says he respects decision to relieve him as PNP chief</strong></a></div><p>“I&#x27;m still here at sumusuporta sa lahat ng programa ng ating gobyerno. At suportahan natin ang bagong Pilipinas, lalong-lalo na si Pangulong BBM sa lahat ng kanyang mga programa ngayon,” Torre said. </p><p>“Sa gitna nito, mga turmoils na ito, huwag tayong mawala sa konstitusyon at huwag tayong mawala sa chain of command.”</p><p>While his immediate future remains uncertain, Torre made it clear that his commitment to public service remains strong.</p><p>For now, his focus is on advocacy, but as he approaches the end of his leave, eyes will be on what role he may play next. </p><div><br/></div>
