<p>MANILA — The Department of Health said Friday it was launching an audit mechanism to allow the public to submit reports about possible irregularities in Super Health Centers nationwide, at least 300 of which remained non-operational. </p><p>Super Health Centers are an enhanced version of a rural health unit that also aim to decongest hospitals. </p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/regions/2025/10/16/doh-questions-sudden-opening-of-antipolo-super-health-center-1651">DOH questions sudden opening of Antipolo super health center</a></div><p>Through its Health Facility Enhancement Program, the DOH said it has funded around 878 Super Health Centers since 2021. Of the number, 365 are still under construction, 300 are still non-operational, and 17 are partially operational, the agency said.</p><p>&quot;Itutuloy ng DOH ang case building ng mga Super Health Centers na may nauna nang listahan. Mula sa 297, umakyat ito sa 300,&quot; the DOH said in a statement. </p><p>The agency added that it was activating what it called &quot;Citizens Participatory Audit&quot; after it received reports on idle Super Health Centers. </p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/10/15/doh-orders-probe-into-unfinished-super-health-centers-marikina-project-under-scrutiny-1924">DOH orders probe into unfinished super health centers; Marikina project under scrutiny</a></div><p>The DOH noted that Health Secretary Teodoro Herbosa went to the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) — which is tasked to look into flood control and other infrastructure projects — to report about the Super Health Centers on Friday. </p><p>Meanwhile, ICI executive director Brian Keith Hosaka assured the public that the case of Super Health Centers would not derail the investigation into the multibillion-peso flood control scandal.</p><p>&quot;It doesn&#x27;t prevent us, once we&#x27;re fully capacitated, to look into other infrastructure projects and to see if there’s any anomalous activity or projects with regard to other infrastructure,&quot; he told ANC&#x27;s Dateline Philippines.</p><p>Hosaka noted that the ICI was also created to look into other potentially anomalous infrastructure programs, not just flood relief projects.</p><p>He said that the body&#x27;s strategy was to zero in on 421 ghost or non-existent flood control projects.</p><div><strong>RELATED VIDEO: </strong></div><div><span class="fr-video fr-deletable fr-fvc fr-dvb fr-draggable" contenteditable="false" draggable="true"><iframe width="640" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/z8ALNha3ql4?&amp;wmode=opaque&amp;rel=0" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen="" class="fr-draggable"></iframe></span><br/></div><div><br/></div><div> </div>
