To help speed up the filing of airtight cases against some politicians, DPWH officials and errant contractors, we will invite among others, a ‘very important witness’ and retired T/Sgt Orly Guteza to shed more light on his &#x27;sinumpaang salaysay,&#x27;&quot; Lacson said in an X post.</p><p>Guteza, who claimed to be former Ako Bicol Party-list Rep. Zaldy Co’s former security consultant, has said he was ordered to <a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/9/25/suitcases-of-money-delivered-to-romualdez-zaldy-co-houses-staff-1118">deliver suitcases of cash </a>to Co and Leyte 1st District Rep. Martin Romualdez’s houses.</p><p>Romualdez <a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/9/25/romualdez-denies-receiving-suitcases-of-money-from-co-s-ex-security-consultant-1832">denied </a>the allegation.</p><p>Guteza’s affidavit faced a hurdle after the notary public who supposedly signed the document denied doing so. Lacson previously said he would leave the issue to the Manila Regional Trial Court so as not to be distracted from probing the flood control corruption issue. </p><div> </div><div><strong>‘SOTTO MAY LOSE SENATE PRESIDENCY’</strong></div><p>Lacson on Monday <a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/10/20/lacson-says-reaccepting-blue-ribbon-chairmanship-may-have-consequences-on-senate-majority-1847">said </a>that his acceptance of the Blue Ribbon chairmanship may cause some members to leave the majority bloc and eventually cause Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III to lose the Senate presidency.</p><p>But Sotto said “most members of the majority” want the retired police chief to take the position.</p><p>Lacson, who <a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/10/6/sotto-receives-lacson-s-blue-ribbon-resignation-letter-1803">resigned </a>from the post on Oct. 6, cited Senate members’ &quot;<a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/10/5/lacson-stepping-aside-as-blue-ribbon-committee-chair-1524">disappointment</a>&quot; over how he handled the investigation.</p><p>Sen.
