Jervis Manahan, ABS-CBN News"/><span class="fr-inner" style="text-align:left">Visitors at the Manila North Cemetery, October 29, 2025. <em>Jervis Manahan, ABS-CBN News</em></span></span></span>MANILA -- Some visitors of Manila North Cemetery struggled to find the graves of their loved ones, despite the help of a digital finder.</div><p>For some, it has been years—or even decades—since their last visit, making it nearly impossible to recall where exactly their family members are buried.</p><p>Yolanda Cuaresma approached the Puntod Finder Assistance Desk at the Manila North Cemetery, hoping to locate her grandmother’s grave.</p><p>It had been more than ten years since her last visit, and she could no longer remember the exact location.</p><p>She came alone, so cemetery staff accompanied her through narrow walkways and crowded paths in search of the grave.</p><div><a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/10/21/visiting-departed-loved-ones-here-s-what-you-need-to-know-1808">READ: Visiting departed loved ones? Here&#x27;s what you need to know</a></div><p>Despite their efforts, the search ended in vain.</p><p>&quot;Ipagdarasal at ipagtitirik na lang ng kandila sa bahay, papamisahan, pero nagpapasalamat po ako sa matiyagang pagtulong nila sa paghahanap,&quot; she said.</p><p>Another visitor, Zenaida Ramido, came early to avoid the expected surge of visitors, as she was already a senior citizen.</p><p>She has not visited her brother’s grave in over five years and needed help finding it.</p><p>After a long search and several wrong turns, Zenaida finally found the grave—covered in moss and seemingly long neglected.</p><p>Cemetery personnel were deployed in full force to maintain order. Tents and assistance booths were set up outside, and free shuttle services were made available since private vehicles are no longer allowed inside.</p><p>At the Manila South Cemetery, early visitors noticed several changes.</p><p>Manila City officials have already conducted inspections to ensure crowd safety and proper traffic flow.</p><p>Although the South Cemetery is located in Makati, it remains under the jurisdiction of the Manila city government.</p><div><br/></div><div><span class="fr-video fr-deletable fr-fvc fr-dvb fr-draggable" contenteditable="false" draggable="true"><iframe width="640" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/7zWvkwpavNE?&amp;wmode=opaque&amp;rel=0" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen="" class="fr-draggable"></iframe></span><br/></div>
