<p>MANILA — Police have arrested a member of a group allegedly involved in the illegal sale of firearms in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Tunasan, Muntinlupa City.</p><p>The group&#x27;s clientele includes criminal organizations engaged in robbery and illegal drug trade in southern Metro Manila, according to the Southern Police District (SPD).</p><p>In a video obtained by authorities, the suspect — identified only by his alias &quot;Cris&quot; — was caught accepting marked money from an undercover operative before SPD personnel introduced themselves and placed him under arrest.</p><p>The transaction happened inside a residence that is owned by an acquaintance of the suspect.</p><p>Seized from the suspect was a caliber .45 pistol, which he allegedly tried to sell for P20,000.</p><p>Cris denied but later admitted his involvement in the transaction. </p><p>He however claimed it was his first time engaging in such an activity.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/8/6/cidg-seizes-suspected-smuggled-rifles-in-batangas-buy-bust-1927">CIDG seizes suspected smuggled rifles in Batangas buy-bust</a></div><p>Police said the real target of the operation was alias &quot;Ace,&quot; a known associate of the suspect and a person of interest in a previous shooting incident in Barangay Bayanan. </p><p>However, Ace managed to evade arrest.</p><p>Brig. Gen. Randy Arceo, SPD director, said the firearms being sold by the group could end up in the hands of those involved in robbery and illicit drugs, alleging that the suspect and his accomplices were engaged as well in illegal narcotics.</p><p>The suspect is now under the custody of SPD-District Special Operations Unit in Taguig and will face charges for violation of Republic Act 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.</p><div><br/></div><div><strong>OTHER NEWS</strong></div><div><br/></div><div><strong><span class="fr-video fr-deletable fr-fvc fr-dvb fr-draggable" contenteditable="false" draggable="true"><iframe width="640" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/oEnLoMokpRI?&amp;wmode=opaque&amp;rel=0" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen="" class="fr-draggable"></iframe></span></strong><br/></div>
