Dizon: Cabinet secretaries remain solid behind Marcos despite Co's accusations

President Benigno Aquino III, for example, had the pork barrel scam investigated, with many cases from that period still in court.</p><p>The Duterte administration also created a Presidential Anti-Corruption Commission to rival the Office of the Ombudsman.</p><p>Dizon said he is confident that Marcos Jr. will finish what he started when he highlighted corruption in flood-control programs in his State of the Nation Address in July.</p><div><strong> </strong><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/11/14/zaldy-co-breaks-silence-on-flood-control-mess-1214"><strong>Zaldy Co breaks silence on flood control mess</strong></a></div><p>Dizon also said Co’s statements are inconsistent with Marcos Jr.’ actions in fighting corruption.</p><p>“Kasi kung involved ka, bakit ikaw mismo ang magpapasabog? Bakit mo gagawin ang lahat ng ito? Bakit mo bubuuin ang isang independent commission? Bakit mo sasabihin lahat ng dapat managot ay dapat managot? Bakit mo sasabihin bago mag-Pasko ay sigurado ng may makukulong?” Dizon added.</p><p>(If you are involved, then why expose the scam? Why create an independent commission? Why would you say that everyone involved should be accountable? Why would you say that people will be arrested and jailed before Christmas?)</p><p>He further cast doubt on Co’s credibility, pointing out that the former congressman left the country just as the flood control controversy erupted.</p><p>Co&#x27;s lawyer Ruy Rondain has argued that Co <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/11/14/house-panel-oks-bill-to-strengthen-independent-body-investigating-flood-control-anomalies-1952">left the country in February for medical treatment</a>, months before the SONA.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/11/14/lacson-says-zaldy-co-s-corruption-claims-lack-weight-without-oath-1903"><strong>Lacson says Zaldy Co’s corruption claims lack weight without oath</strong></a></div><p>Dizon stressed that Marcos Jr. has taken concrete steps — from exposing the corruption scandal in his State of the Nation Address o SONA, to creating the Independent Commission filing cases, and initiating reforms within the DPWH.</p>
