<p>MANILA -- Pro-Duterte groups, led by the United People&#x27;s Initiative, held a daylong protest at the People Power Monument along EDSA in Quezon City on Sunday to call for accountability, justice, and integrity.</p><p>Organizers said they expected around 300,000 to join the gathering, but the crowd peaked at 4,000 around 5:00 p.m.</p><p>Among those who joined the program in the afternoon were Hermogenes Esperon, the National Security Adviser during the Duterte administration, and former Coast Guard Commandant Damian Carlos.</p><p>&quot;Ako ay naniniwala na ang karamihan sa beterano, kung hindi man lahat, ay naniniwala na masama iyong nangyayaring korapsyong sa atin. Sana, dahil doon nagsisimula ang mga regulasyon natin, baguhin natin ang Constitution. Mag constitutional convention tayo,&quot; said Esperon.</p><p>&quot;Ito ay panawagan para sa maayos na governance, upang maipakilala natin sa mundo na ang mga Pilipino ay hindi duwag,handang tumayo at ipaglaban ang tama. Dahil tayo ay hindi papayag na magkaroon ng maling sistema, ng korap na gobyerno, na maipapamamana natin sa ating mga apo at anak,&quot; said Carlos, for his part.</p><p>The gathering was marred by tension between participating groups when some called for the resignation of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.</p><p>Organizers said this was not allowed, citing an agreement with the police that no seditious calls will be made. The matter was resolved immediately.</p><p>Authorities deployed some 1,500 personnel to ensure order and security in the area.</p><p>More pro-Duterte groups joined the PPM rally early in the evening after holding their own program at the Liwasang Bonifacio. The Reforma Pilipinas and Hakbang ng Maisug had planned to join the Iglesia Ni Cristo rally at Quirino Grandstand but were not allowed. </p><p>Over 600,000 people joined the INC-organized rally at the Quirino Grandstand.</p><div><a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/11/16/crowd-at-inc-quirino-grandstand-rally-swells-to-45-000-1445">READ: Crowd at INC Quirino Grandstand rally swells to over 600,000</a></div><p>&quot;Sana po ito’y maparating din sa ating mga kababayan kanina po kasi nagkaroon ng miscommunication. Hindi po, hindi kami pinayagan kundi, nakiusap nalang din po ang lahat ng mga leaders po para po sa kapayapaan ng lahat at pakikiisa naman din sa nangyayaring aktibidad doon sa Luneta na kami po ay mag sariling programa dito sa Liwasang Bonifacio,&quot; said Reforma Pilipinas spokesperson Daniel Nobleza.</p><p>Asked if they will continue with their three-day rally, Nobleza said: &quot;Batay naman po sa mga napag-usapan po namin hangga’t hindi po bumababa si Bongbong Marcos, hindi rin po kami titigil.&quot;</p><p>The rally at the PPM ended at around 10:30 PM and will continue on Monday.
