Santi San Juan, PPA pool</span></span></span></div><p>MANILA — There will be “no problem” with the timely passage of the 2026 national budget despite the recent shake-up in President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s Cabinet, Malacañang said on Tuesday after several high-ranking economic officials vacated their posts.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/11/18/malacanang-says-resignation-not-an-option-for-marcos-after-sister-imee-s-allegations-1515">&#x27;Matapang na haharap&#x27;: Malacañang says resignation not an option for Marcos after sister Imee&#x27;s allegations</a></div><p>Budget Secretary Amenah Pangandaman resigned due to delicadeza after she was implicated in the alleged anomalous insertion of P100-billion into the 2025 budget, while Finance Secretary Ralph Recto was named as the new Executive Secretary after Lucas Bersamin vacated the post.</p><p>Marcos Jr. also lost his Special Assistant for Investment and Economic Affairs after he appointed Frederick Go as Recto’s replacement in the Department of Finance.</p><p>“It may be an issue but we were able to talk to Secretary Go and according to him, any reassignments of the cabinet members to DOF and DBM, they are all the same people who work on the budget, who work on the finance.
